Frequently Asked Questions

Why do I need a separate pool survey?

Pool surveys are not part of a home survey and with swimming pools making up between 7-20% of your purchase price investment it is worth getting a separate survey done on your pool. A pool survey is done by an independent surveyor who has experience with pools and spas. This specialist knowledge means they can spot hidden spends, damage, and general wear ad tear that a home surveyor may miss. This means you walk into your home and pool purchase with all the knowledge you need to avoid any nasty surprises a few months after purchase when you have to renovate or use your pool for the first time.

How will a pool survey help me?

Our pool surveys are here to help you decide whether you are purchasing an investment or a money pit. Our surveys will also help you plan and cost what needs fixing and how you can make it safe for you and your family. Your pool survey will also give you the information you need to get your pool and property insured as well as potentially negotiate a more suitable purchase price.

How does a pool survey work?

There are four simple steps to receiving your pool survey.

Step 1: Speak to our team to book a date when we can access and survey the pool

Step 2: Send us further details and images of the pool, pool access, and pool building before we arrive at the property

Step 3: We arrive at the property and complete a full survey, see the pool surveys page for the full list of things we assess. Sometimes your survey will include a dive.

Step 4: Immediately after our surveyor will give you a general overview and feedback on your pool

Your survey is now complete and you will receive a full survey report via email within 1-2 weeks of your survey visit being completed.

Can you help with any repairs or problems you find during your survey?

The good news is it may be possible to do some of the small and minor fixes onsite such as liner patches. Some of the small fixes may be temporary but they will help maintain the pool until you can get a more permanent solution. All fixes or repair work are to be discussed with our surveyor before any repairs are made.

We are also happy to work with and advise any pool contractors you hire.

Help! This is my first time owning a pool, can you help me?

Yes, we can! We can help you if you are looking to buy a property with a pool OR if you now own a pool for the first time. Our team can hold your hand and advise you through the whole survey process. We can even liaise with you and your new pool team with any refurbs, fixes, or general maintenance.
